All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Do we believe that? Do you, really? Paul tells Timothy Scripture has been breathed out by God -- the same fullness of His life breathed into Adam -- and is thoroughly capable of equipping His church for any work and ministry He gives us to do.

Yet, we rely on money-hungry conferences. We steal God's glory by writing books on how clever our models are. We gloat over numerical empires rather than simple, humble obedience. We believe a podcast to be more powerful than correctly and fearfully listening to and speaking the Word of God. We are more quick to quote authors than the Author and Perfecter of our faith. We vote for politicians, who are incapable of fulfilling our expectations, and then blame them when we fail to contend for the faith in our homes, schools, workplaces and neighborhoods.

We have become arrogant. By relying on these things, we have expressed to God we do not believe His Word. We do not depend on it to equip us, nor do we obey it when it says to make, baptize and teach disciples.

God has given a call to repent from trusting in other gods, whether politicians, financial systems, conferences, programs, authors or speakers. He is calling people to lay those things aside in order to listen to Him through His Scripture and prayer, trusting He will accomplish all that He has promised. Please, listen and repent.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years..." (Hebrews 3:7-9)
